1. PURPOSE

1.1 Purpose of this Policy

The Identity Verification Policy explains how CareHarbor360 may verify the identity of users to help promote trust, reduce fraud, and support a safer caregiving marketplace.

The objectives of this Policy are to:

  • describe how identity verification may be conducted;

  • explain when verification may be requested;

  • clarify the limitations of verification;

  • outline user responsibilities during the verification process; and

  • explain how verification information is handled.

Identity verification is one of several trust and safety measures used by CareHarbor360 and should not be viewed as a guarantee of a user's character, qualifications, or future conduct.

1.2 Relationship to Other Policies

This Policy should be read together with the:

  • Privacy Policy;

  • Terms of Service;

  • Trust & Safety Policy;

  • Acceptable Use Policy; and

  • any feature-specific notices presented during the verification process.

2. SCOPE

This Policy applies to any user who is requested or chooses to complete identity verification through the CareHarbor360 platform.

Verification requirements may differ depending on:

  • user type;

  • account features;

  • regulatory requirements;

  • trust and safety considerations; or

  • the services being accessed.

Not every user will necessarily be required to complete identity verification.

3. OUR APPROACH TO IDENTITY VERIFICATION

Identity verification is intended to help confirm that a user is who they claim to be.

Verification may support:

  • increased trust between users;

  • fraud prevention;

  • account security;

  • platform integrity; and

  • compliance with applicable legal requirements.

Identity verification is not intended to evaluate:

  • professional competence;

  • caregiving skills;

  • employment suitability;

  • honesty;

  • reliability;

  • future conduct; or

  • overall risk.

Users should continue to exercise independent judgment before entering into caregiving arrangements.

4. WHEN VERIFICATION MAY BE REQUIRED

CareHarbor360 may request identity verification in circumstances such as:

  • creating certain types of accounts;

  • accessing specific platform features;

  • listing caregiving services;

  • responding to security concerns;

  • suspected fraudulent activity;

  • significant account changes;

  • account recovery;

  • compliance with legal obligations; or

  • periodic re-verification.

The scope and timing of verification may change as the Services evolve.

5. VERIFICATION METHODS

Depending on the circumstances and applicable law, CareHarbor360 may verify identity using one or more methods, including:

  • government-issued identification;

  • Aadhaar-based verification where legally permitted and voluntarily provided where required by law;

  • passport;

  • driving licence;

  • voter identification card;

  • PAN card;

  • live photograph or selfie comparison;

  • document authenticity checks; or

  • verification performed by authorized third-party verification providers.

The methods available may vary over time and by user type.

6. VERIFICATION STATUS

Users who successfully complete an available verification process may receive an indicator that certain identity information has been verified.

A verification status indicates only that the applicable verification process was completed successfully at the time of verification.

Verification status does not represent or guarantee:

  • character;

  • trustworthiness;

  • qualifications;

  • licensing;

  • employment eligibility;

  • caregiving ability;

  • future conduct; or

  • safety.

Users should consider verification status together with other available information when making decisions.

7. USER RESPONSIBILITIES

Users participating in identity verification are responsible for:

  • providing accurate information;

  • submitting authentic documents;

  • ensuring that submitted documents belong to them;

  • promptly updating material changes where applicable;

  • cooperating with reasonable verification requests; and

  • not attempting to circumvent the verification process.

Submission of altered, forged, or fraudulent documents may result in account suspension, termination, or referral to competent authorities where appropriate.

8. FRAUD PREVENTION

CareHarbor360 uses identity verification as one measure to help detect and reduce fraud.

Users must not:

  • impersonate another person;

  • create accounts using another person's identity;

  • submit false or misleading identity information;

  • use stolen identity documents;

  • attempt to manipulate verification systems; or

  • assist others in bypassing verification requirements.

Suspected fraud may result in investigation and appropriate enforcement action.

9. PRIVACY AND DATA PROTECTION

Information collected during identity verification will be processed in accordance with the CareHarbor360 Privacy Policy and applicable law.

Verification information may be used to:

  • confirm identity;

  • protect user accounts;

  • prevent fraud;

  • comply with legal obligations;

  • investigate suspected policy violations; and

  • maintain the security and integrity of the Services.

Access to verification information is restricted to personnel or service providers with a legitimate business need.

Verification documents will not be retained longer than necessary for the purposes for which they were collected or as otherwise required by law.

10. FAILED OR INCOMPLETE VERIFICATION

If identity verification cannot be completed successfully, CareHarbor360 may:

  • request additional information;

  • request updated documentation;

  • limit access to certain platform features;

  • delay activation of specific services;

  • suspend verification-dependent functionality; or

  • decline or terminate verification where appropriate.

Users may contact CareHarbor360 support if they believe a verification decision was made in error.

11. ONGOING VERIFICATION

To maintain platform integrity, CareHarbor360 may request users to complete re-verification in circumstances such as:

  • significant profile changes;

  • security incidents;

  • suspected fraud;

  • expired identification documents;

  • legal or regulatory requirements; or

  • periodic security reviews.

Re-verification helps maintain the accuracy and reliability of user information over time.

12. MISUSE OF VERIFICATION

Users must not:

  • misuse verification badges or indicators;

  • falsely claim verification;

  • alter verification results;

  • misrepresent the meaning of verification;

  • use another user's verified status; or

  • exploit verification features to mislead others.

Violations may result in account restrictions or termination.

13. POLICY UPDATES

CareHarbor360 may update this Policy from time to time to reflect changes in technology, verification processes, legal requirements, or business practices.

Material changes will be communicated where required by applicable law.

The latest version of this Policy will be available on the CareHarbor360 platform.
